About Me
Hi, I'm Alice Smith!
Every child is unique, so why should tutoring be any different?
My primary aim is to grow children's confidence and help foster a love of learning. I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing and calm space for my students, enabling them to thrive and excel in a positive environment where learning is individual to their needs.
I have 10 years primary teaching experience across schools in London, Kent and East Sussex. I have taught in Key Stage 1 & 2 and have had multiple leadership roles, including Phonics and Reading lead.
I was awarded my PGCE from the University of Cambridge in 2015. In 2022 I gained a National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching.
Every child and every family is unique; please get in contact to find out what I can do to tailor my support to your child's learning.

Video Lessons
I work with a professional video editor to create personalised learning videos for tutees.
They are bespoke lessons, just like a live lesson, but pre-recorded to offer you, as a family, flexibility. Your child can watch along with the lesson, pause when instructed and are able to go back and rewatch anything they’re unsure of. They are also a great option for children who are shy or less confident as there is no pressure on them to answer questions quickly or feel distressed if they get something wrong. As with live lessons, I ask parents to take and send photos of their child’s work so I can feedback on how they’re getting on.
They are a great option for children to have focused learning on a specific topic, or as an alternative to live lessons.
Flexible
Lessons can be done at a time and place that works for you and when your child is in the right headspace.
Bespoke
Lessons are planned and videoed specifically for your child, working on areas that they need support with.
Brain Breaks
Brain Breaks and pauses are built into the videos helping your child remain focused.
